ROAD RUNNER--Local racer Randy MacDonald took to the racetrack at Mosport again on the July 3-5 weekend. The weekend didn't have a promising start, though. Randy's rear left axle bent, causing his Trans Am to vibrate. But despite the axle and rain, he still managed to finish 9th in the qualifying round. The remainder of the weekend went very well, though. Randy posted the fastest lap of the day at 1:43.123, but finished 15th on the day. He also won the Closed Wheel event, a race that throws together Porches, Hondas, Trans Ams and other vehicles. On Monday, Randy headed to the U.S. where he'll be stock car racing on Sunday, July 18. His next Player's Challenge race will be the second annual Molson Indy held at Toronto July 17,18,19. He is currently in 12th place overall in the eight race series.
