The purpose of the conference conference was the presentation presentation of the text of an open letter to Ontario Premier David Peterson concerning tritium exportation. Tritium, which is a waste product of the CANDU nuclear nuclear reactor, is a key component component in nuclear weapons. DNA fears that Ontario's exportation of tritium, due to recent dramatic reductions reductions in American production, production, may contribute significantly significantly to the nuclear arms race. Suzanne Elston, a spokesperson spokesperson for DNA, says that large-scale transportation from the Pickering site is scheduled to begin in early 1988.
