As the name implies, the very novel idea requires that all attending the three event series bring some padding to sit on for the performances. Wally Pitt, prinicipal at Hampton School, and teacher teacher Philip Palmer, as well as the committee in charge of the series are very excited about the future happenings. "We don't have good theatre theatre for children in this area," said Mr. Palmer. "We are bringing in high quality entertainment," he added. The three event series is being being offered on an individual performance basis, or as a package deal. Performers include: Gina Lori Riley Dance Enterpriz- es, a comedy and drama dance theatre; April and Susan, Susan, a dynamite duo that dances and sings and encourages encourages the audience to do the same; as well as Morgan's Morgan's Journey, a mime, puppetry, puppetry, music, and magic theatrical event. The one hour performances consultant, Doug Dewell, the organizers scouted the Ontario Ontario Arts Council catalogue for potential performers. It wasn't hard to find three top acts, which were all highly recommended by Mr. De well Still, Mr. Pitt says that his school is just trying to produce produce an innovative idea. "We're not trying to outdo (anyone) but do something different," he said. The organizers, which include include other staff members as well as several parents, have received great support from the senior administration of the Board of Education. Plans are to market the concert concert series to all the schools in the area, as well as the general public. "We had a dream," said Mr. Pitt From the looks of things, it won't be long now before that dream is a reality. For further information or tickets, call Hampton Junior Public School at 263-2252. January and February, a starting time of 11:00 a.m., it is hoped that it is early enough to catch people before before they start their day, and allow them to have the afternoon afternoon free for other activities. According to Mr. Pitt, the concept of the performances will be "theatre in the round". That's where the cushions come in. The audience will be sitting on the floor, surrounding surrounding the performers. That will encourage not only audience participation, but allow everyone to feel like they are actually one of the performers. Organizers are also hoping that the concerts will be family family affairs. r 'Everyone is encouraged to come," said Mr. Pitt. While it is believed that such a concert series is a first for the area, the reputations of the performers snould ensure ensure its success.
