4 The Canadian Statesman, Bowmanville, October 28,1987 T A guide to fine dining and entertainment." Hort. Soc. Enjoys Slides by Verna Robinson The Bowmanville and District District Horticulture meeting was held in the Trinity United United Church Hall on October 21 with a good attendance. Mr. Dick Gibbs gave the report report on the convention that ne and Mrs. Gibbs attended in June at Kingston. We then enjoyed Christine Gibb's slides of India, which were very interesting. She had soft music playing while the slides were being shown and delightful comments of each one. Some things we learned were: They do not spray for insects, 'there are several reservoirs of water, so as in the hot weather plants do not wilt and die. Some of their trees and plants grow to a greater size than ours. A number of Questions Questions were asked which Christine capably answered. She was thanked by Mr. David David Kemp. Then everyone enjoyed a social half hour, viewed the flower competition, competition, and journeyed home. Next month on the 18th of November will be our Pot Luck supper and Christmas show at 6:00. There will be election of officers and entertainment. entertainment. We hope there will be a good turn out.
