This smaller version ofthe original, is printed on #2 white stock and retains all of the integrity of the original. Bordering the detailed map are drawings of some places no longer in existence: the G.P. Walter Furniture Company, Company, thepre-1903 Old Bowmanville Bowmanville Town Hall, the Union Union School on Wellington Street and a remarkable view of King Street West are but a few. Detailed views of Bowmanville, the Village of Newcastle, Walton Street in Port Hope, scenes of Hampton Hampton and Enniskillen all contribute contribute greatly to the charm of this famous reference map. All landowners of 1861 are listed in detail in the following following Townships: Darlington, Darlington, Clarke, Hope, Manvers, Cartwright and Cavan. Melissa, coached by the Coyle sisters of Cobourg, is the first skater from Newcastle in many years who qualifies to enter this competition. What an accomplishment for an 11 year old, we wish her the best of luck. The much anticipated Community Care draw took place at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, October 23, as a final part of the afternoon long bazaar. The first place prize of a sheval mirror went to Darlene Childs of Orono. Second prize of a wicker chest filled with linens linens was won by Lorraine Filiatrault from Bowman ville.
