Japanese farm people have much smaller average families than here. They are very conscious of family and the care of each other. Goods are very expensive. expensive. The children all looked smart and neat in school uniforms. Ruth had very good pictures that gave us all a color trip of the places they visited. Guests were welcomed by District Pres. Vi Ashton and the "Fun" began. The first skit was presented by Iva Twist and Louise Bell of the Bowmanville branch and was entitled "A Day in the Life of Me and My Stomach." Stomach." We were given the "insides" reaction to a day of junk food and snacking. The next presentation was by Kendal members Mrs. L. Cathcart and Mrs. Turansky who first confessed to keeping keeping a kitchen drawer stuffed with nothings, and then revealed revealed why large purses were a necessity. An Institute member must be prepared for all emergencies in the '80's. Dora Martin, representing representing Blackstock, and dressed in costume, gave a reading entitled "Widder !
