Obituaries Ruby Murray Following a seven week illness, illness, Ruby Murray died in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, on Tuesday, October October 13,1987, at the age of 76. Bom in Oshawa and educated educated in Newcastle she was the daughter of Arthur and Maigaret Nicholas. She was married to James Walter Murray, August 10,1936. A resident of Newcastle til a year ago when she moved to Oshawa, Mrs. Murray was a member of the Baptist Church, and of the Bible Study Group. Surviving are her children Calvin, Juanita and Jim. Ill two months, Victor Ray Brown, aged 83, died in Memorial Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville, Bowmanville, Saturday, October 3, 1987. Bom in Newcastle, and educated educated at Brown's Public School, and Newcastle High School, he was the son of Clifford Brown and Annie Heard. A resident in Newcastle at 13 King Street, West, Apt. 2 for 35 years, he had been employed at J. Anderson Smith Co., as a woodworker, retiring in 1973. During World War 11 he served in the army. He was a member of Newcastle Newcastle United Church, and after retiring he served as a school crossing guard at Beaver and King Streets for seven years. A life long sports enthusiast and active softball umpire, he supported supported all levels of sports. Surviving are three sisters, Fern (Mrs. W. Brunt), Hilda, (Mrs. E. Caswell) and June (Mrs. T. Wilson) several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother Sid Brown and a sister Hazel Malley. The Reverend D.A. Stiles officiated at the funeral services services held on Tuesday, Oct. 6 at the Morris Funeral Chap- el, Bowpianville. Pallbearers were nephews Byron Brunt, Grant Malley, Dennis Ferguson, Leigh, Brad and Cam Wilson. Floral tributes were re- ,, ceived from Club Solo, J.
