This was Bowmanville's first loss of the season when the Axemen Axemen defeated them 5-2 in Ajax. It started off a tight, hard- checking hockey game. Ajax took the lead at 4:08 into the second period but Eagles couldn't come up with anything else. Bowmanville took an early early lead with Steve Terry's goal just over a minute into play. Midway through the period, Chris Dreossi scored to extend the lead to 2-0. The Merchants put one in, on the power play very shortly after after that. In the second period, the Eagles scored the next two goals, one by Mike Gallant, the other Steve Terry . The Eagles started having trouble trouble clearing the puck out of their end which resulted in Little Britain's second goal. After that, it was all Bowmanville. Bowmanville. Late in second period, period, Brad Creuss with a pass from Murray Henderson, brought the puck out of the corner, through the Merchants Merchants defence and shoved it into the net. The Eagles finished them off in the third, scoring three more goals, Steve Terry scoring nis third of the game, Mike Colwell getting his first goal and one by Ted Gaudet. David Smith played in net for the Eagles and showed excellent skill, only allowing two goals. Eagles played Uxbridge in Hampton Arena Sunday, winning by a score of 6-4.
