The Canadian Tire Atom Toros, better now known as the C.T. Atom Toros, are building their own reputation, reputation, sporting a 20-2-2 record record under the guidance of coaches Paul Jackman, Bob deBlois, Paul Edmundson, and Mgr. Steve Oke. Realizing that the C.T. Toros are no competition for "AAA" centres with major teams, Manager Steve Oke has been lining up centres which will hopefully hopefully strengthen the club for the new year, which is the crucial time of the season. NOVEMBER 22 TOROS 6 PETERBOROUGH MINOR "AAA"4 The high flying Petes were enjoying an undefeated undefeated season until the C.T. Toros arrived in town. The Petes jumped into a 2- 0 lead in the 1st period. Bowmanville had an explosive explosive second period scoring scoring 4 times to the Petes 1. Trailing 2-0, Gary Adams, who is looking like the Adams of the Novice years, scored from Mike Cramm and Warren Bate and Doug Parkin from Mike Nesbitt and Jason Hoffmann tied the score. Warren Bate, who is a real sniper around the net, scored from Hoffmann and before the period ended Doug Parkin from Mike Nesbitt put the Toros ahead 4-3. The Tbros outscored. the Petes in the 3rd period 2-1 with Ryan Robinson and Mike Nesbitt scoring unassisted goals. Mike Nesbitt, always always a threat around the opposition opposition net broke in alone from the blue line making no mistake. Petes held up their home town reputation taking 7 penalties to Bowmanville's 3 with most of them for high sticking. With a lot of direction direction from goalkeeping coach Paul Edmundson both goalies have proven to be equally important to the C.T. Toros. Once again sniper Warren Warren Bate scored the Toros first 3 goals, Warren Bate from Mike Cramm and Bruce Harnum, W. Bate from Gary Adams and Mike DeBlois and again W. Bate from Adams and M. Cramm. In the third period Mike Nesbitt scored on passes from Jason Jackman and Bruce Harnum. Late in the period Jason Hoffmann dumped the puck into the Port's end Mike Nesbitt dug it out of the corner with Doug Parkin making the red light' come on. Before the period ended Jeff Murphy scored a shorthanded goal on an end to end rush with Andrew Ferguson, and Chris Heffernan assisting. NOVEMBER 27 TOROS 5 STOUFFVILLE 4 LEAGUE The Stouffville press was there to watch two evenly matched teams, but the referees referees must have got a drift of this and decided to be the focus of attention calling a total of 40 minutes in minor penalties in a game which these boys only play 3 - 10 minute periods, and like a typical N.H.L. game with a score of 5-4 and two minutes remaining everything goes. It's not only the boys that need coaching and teaching and we will leave it at that. The C.T. Toros jumped out in front when Jeff Murphy Murphy put Ryan Robinson in the clear and he made no mistakes. Minutes later, Gary Adams, who has been on a tear since the Saltfleet Tournament, scored with Bruce Harnum assisting. The home team got on the board before the C.T. Toros scored again. Ryan Robinson, Robinson, his 2nd of the game with Jeff Murphy and Andrew Andrew Ferguson assisting. With the referee and penalties penalties playing a key role in this game, the score quickly became a 4-4 tie. Late in the third period once again Gary Adams did a spin-a- rama move behind the net and banked the puck off the goalie's pad to net the winner, winner, Mike Cramm and Chris Heffernan assisting. C.T. Toros were quite happy to leave with a victory, victory, a totally frustrating game for both coaches and parents. NOVEMBER 27 TOROS OSHAWA CENTRAL BLACK HAWKS 1 - EXHIBITION Alter arriving home around 11 p.m. Friday, the boys were on the ice for an early 8 a.m. game in Oshawa. It was definitely a sleeper, with the C.T. Toros a much stronger club skating skating away with a victory. Mike Nesbitt from Doug Parkin opened the C.T. Toros eyes slightly, but Oshawa bounced back to tie the score. Jell'Murphy tipped tipped in a Ryan Robinson shot in the middle frame which turned out to be the winner and from there on it was coach Paul Jackman who has to keep the boys awake until the buzzer ended the game. NOVEMBER 28 TOROS 1 OSHAWA SELECTS 1 EXHIBITION The C.T. Toros almost saw their game unbeaten streak come to an end. This was the C.T. Toros 2nd game of the day playing the sleeper at 8 a.m. and winning 2-1. This Oshawa team was a much quicker skating club and Steve Oke in the Toros net had lots of action. The C.T. Toros played without Ryan Robinson and Mike deBlois but the other Toros picked up the slack to salvage a 1-1 tie. The Toros had only 1 shot on the Oshawa net until the 3rd before before Warren Bate had 3 golden opportunities but the Oshawa goalie held his own. Late in the 3rd Doug Parkin from Jeff Murphy and Mike Nesbitt gave the C.T. Toros the equalizer. The C.T. Toros will travel to Cobourg Wednesday, December December 2nd, 7 p.m. and travel to Port Perry Friday December 4th, 8 p.m. and will host Oshawa Saturday, December 5th, 3:20 p.m. Another full week of action. Keep up the good work Toros but don't forget all your other responsibilities. p.m. The evening is offering great entertainment, and a chance to see if Baskervillc really does know any magic tricks.
