Hobbs Senior Public School, in Phys. Ed. for her Co-op placement. Alma, who is a grade 13 student now at Courtice Secondary, worked as a teachers aide to Mr. Webster Webster last year. Alma's Co-op placement was in the second semester. She went in everyday two days for two periods in the morning; and two days for two periods in the afternoon. afternoon. "I really enjoyed working with the kids," Alma said, "They were great kids. 1 also liked the way everyone treated me. They treated me like an adult which I liked." During her Co-op time, Alma was responsible for, leading some warm-ups, and demonstrating new skills, in the Phys. Ed. program. program. She helped the kids in core subjects such as English English and Math, she proofread proofread English assignments, and was available for personal personal problems. Alma's favorite part ol her Co-op placement was being able to help the kids perform the exercises in Physical Education. The morning of songs, skits and general mayhem proved a big hit with staff and students alike. There were appearances by vari ous staff members, Santa Claus and a special greeting greeting from the entire grade thirteen class. She said "I also didn't like all the free time I had. Sometimes I would have nothing to do, and I didn't enjoy that." Alma liked all the people she worked with. She said, "I could always talk openly with my employer. We got along really well." About the kids she said, "The kids were nice, butyou had to be patient with them." Alma chose her placement placement at Hobbs because she likes the age of about 13 and 14, and it's the age group she is considering to teach someday. In the near future, Alma is going to be attending Lakehead University in Thunder Bay for the Physical Physical Education program. Kendal W.I. Holds Christmas Meeting The Kendal W.I. held their Christmas meeting in the church Sunday school room Thursday December 10th with thirteen members and one visitor present. A pot luck lunch was enjoyed by all and baskets for shut-ins were assembled after which we exchanged gifts. The above mentioned visitor was Mrs. Pat Lecuyer who along with husband Don has been my next door neighbor since early summer. The commuters who use the Langstaff road no doubt remember passing an empty lot in the morning and coming home'the same day and seeing à fully grown house that's progress don't you think? Very happy to announce the safe arrival of Amy Elizabeth, the brand new daughter of Hugh and Corinne Allin - baby weighed in at a healthy eight pound eleven and a quarter ozs. Mom is recovering nicely but I think Dad is going to take a little longer. This writer would like to wish all you people out there a very Merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. Happenings from the Orange Hall - another busy month for the men of the LOL ;405 who met the first Wednesday of the month and the Ladies L.O.B.A. 1420 met Giant Pontypool Sunflowers Think Canadian on the second Thursday, when the newly elected officers took their office for the first time. December the 11th the regular euchre party was held with 13% tables in play. The Junior Lodge will be holding their annual Christmas party December 20th all members of the Orange family welcome.
