ED DUGGAN LTD. ^ Chrysler-Dodge Dealer 344 Kent St. W. Lindsay Dec. 4th, 1987 Letter to the Editor: The Canadian Statesman Bowmanvillc, Ontario Dear Sir, I read with dismay the recent recent article entitled "Little Opposition to Landfill" in the Statesman. Believe me, all of my fam ily are very much opposed to it, knowing the potential for damage to wells, streams and lakes. Surely, our area is too built up, too environmentally sensitive for such a proposed expansion expansion to be approved. I realize that nobody wants garbage nearby and everyone, when confronted, says "Not in my backyard". We do have to find a safe place and a reasonably acceptable acceptable answer to our "waste problem". But allowing expansion of an existing site simply because because it is already a dump- site, does not make sense. We must not allow Newcastle Newcastle to become the Garbage Centre of Ontario.
