Tykes End '87 with 2 Wins On Saturday, December 26th Bowmanville's Shoppers Shoppers Drug Mart Tyke Team defeated London Life 3 to 0. The first period was scoreless scoreless but saw some good up and down action with both goalies making some good saves. In the second period Chris Watson, who is having a great season, scored two goals on solo efforts to put Shoppers in the lead. In the third period some hard corner work by Ryan Bruce enabled Chris Watson Watson to score his third goal of the game, giving him the first hat-trick of his young hockey career. This was also Ryan Bruce's first assist assist of the season. Some good defensive work from Chris Mann, Chris Watson, Chris McKenzie and Erik Griffin enabled Jake Davis to record his 4th shutout this year. Later in the day Shoppers earned their second win, with a hard played game against Skylight Donuts. The first period was tight checking, with goalies Nick Adams and Jake Davis making making some fine stops early in the game.
