Senior Citizens' Club For the first time in many years the Tyrone Senior Citizens' Citizens' Club will operate without without the name of Dick Gibbs somewhere on the roster of official responsibilities. Although Although Dick has stepped out of official duties he does remain remain available as solid support support and assistance, and as a source of wisdom gained through long experience. A charter member of Ontario Senior Citizens' Club, February February 4,1976, Dick has served in the Tyrone Club as President, President, Treasurer, recreation co-ordinator as arranger of countless bus trips etc., delegate delegate to conventions, committees committees member, and has served wherever there was a need of any kind. Dick enjoys wood-working, and he even hand-crafted the Club's gavel gavel several years ago. After having been nominated recently recently for the 1987 Ontario Senior Achievement Award, Dick was presented with a letter of commendation from Ontario Minister of Senior Citizens' Affairs, Ron Van- Horn, at the January 1988 meeting of the Tyrone Club. Mrs. Audrey Rosevear read the letter which acknowledged acknowledged Dick's "significant contributions of time, talents and energy which benefits the community and society as a whole", at the January 6 th meeting. Tyrone Senior Citizens' Club officers for the coming year are: President Doreen Park, 1st Vice President Marion Marion Hoar, 2nd Vice President Laverne Taylor, Treasurer Doreen Ferguson, Secretary Ada Richards.
