In 1987 we once again made a major change in the life of the Hampton Pastoral Charge. Seventy- five years since the circuit of Hampton was formed, we, as of the end of June, became became two separate church units with a two-point Eldad- Hampton charge and a one- noint Zion congregation. Many pioneer families listed in our church history are now gone and replaced by new residents and new homes. A few who remain now have had up to six or seven generations associated with Eldad. A former Statesman Statesman editor, Geo. W. James, used to refer to this area as "the hub of the universe". The motto of the members members and officials of Eldad over the years has been "Faith of our fathers Holy Faith, we will be true to Thee 'till death." And so at this new milestone in our church life we reflect on the past, but more importantly look to the future and the challenge of the faith and hard work that built Eldad and will keep it alive and thriving for, we hope, many years to come .
