Terence Finlay, Finlay, Coadjutor Bishop of the Anglican Diocese of Toronto and a resident of Bowmanville will make his first pastoral visit to the Parish of Clarke since the induction of the Rev. Douglas W. Hall. He will preach at 9:30 a.m. in St. Saviour's, Orono and at 11 a.m. in St. George's, Newcastle. Following the second service, the bishop will lead a discussion on the needs and goals of the two churches in St. George's Parish Hall to which both congregations are invited. LIBRARY IMPROVEMENTS--The Bowmanville Bowmanville branch of the Town of Newcastle Public Library System recently learned that a $70,000 grant from the Province of Ontario has been approved for the automation of the library check-out system. Other recent improvements at the library include the installation of brand new shelves for the adult fiction collection. This was made possible through a grant from the Hydro Impact Fund. Service club grants have allowed the Bowmanvillc Library to start a videotape collection and to buy talking books for those who cannot read printed text. A donation donation of $5,000 from the Bowmanvillc Rotary Club has been matched by the Ministry of Culture Culture and Communications, with the resulting funds going to the videotape service. The $2,000 cheqe from the Bowmanville Lioness Club has also been matched by the provincial government. With that amount of money,.the local library will join a project with nine other libraries to buy talking books. BRING YOUR IDEAS --To the Harvest Festival Festival meeting being held tonight (Wednesday, February 10), at Court Room One of the Bowmanville Bowmanville Fire Hall. The purpose of this meeting meeting (sponsored by the Newcastle Community Services Advisory Board) is to put together some ideas for a major community event in the Town of Newcastle. A "Harvest Festival" has been the tentative concept, although other ideas arc possible. One of the first steps may be to establish a steering committee which will take up the idea and set all of the plans in motion. Tonight's meeting is at 7:30 p.m. INFORMATION BABYVILLE -- This program for moms and babies under 12 months of age takes place every Monday commencing February February 22.
