The expertise of some seasoned Toastmasters became became evident as we travelled through a maze of motions. Table Topics is an educational educational exercise of impromptu speaking. The Table Topics Master, Oshawa TM Steve Reilly, chose as his theme "Toastmasters are Achievers" Achievers" and asked members to employ imagination as he provided each speaker with an achievement to talk about. Later, he presented the trophy for Best Table Topics Speaker to TM Egon Pedersen. TM Irene Konzelmann opened the prepared speech session with a toast to Cupid and wove her Valentine theme into the introduction of the four speakers. TM Robert Korhonen (Oshawa) entertained us with "Did you say two?" - an account of his experiences of raising twins. TM Joe Christl followed the guidelines of the Advanced Speech Manual in his im- tu presentation, lould we subsidize the Canadian Canadian Industry?" A practice speech by Oshawa TM Kathy Kathy Main dealt with "The Rock of the Nation," a description description of the Canadian rock formations. TM Randy McGillivray, utilizing the goals outlined in book speech #8, swayed his audience to be critical of "Sunday Shopping." Shopping." TM McGillivray won tho trophy for Best Speaker. The evaluators were TM Marilyn Dow. TM Bob, Porter Porter (Oshawa), TM Nancy Barnes and TM Wayne Nor- braten (Oshawa). The latter won the trophy for Best Evaluator. The General Evaluator, Oshawa TM Joan Harrigan, was impressed with the evening's programme programme and commended the Toastmasters who helped to make it happen.
