The game time is 7:30 p.m. Bowmanville Bowmanville also plays Friday, at Trenton, commencing at 8:30 p.m. by Kevin Anyan It was one of those games. Bowmanville Eagles played in second gear; but, Cobourg played in first and when the fans awoke the score was 12- 3. Bowmanville had 3 short handed goals and it showed just how poorly Cougars were playing. In fact, with over a minute left in the second second period the Eagles had only 6 players on the bench. Rumor has it, the missing players were in the warm room beating the convenience convenience stand rush. Jeff Dawson and George Pithie each had a hat- trick and with four points from Kelly Armstrong, the fans did have some players to keep their eyes open. Newcomer Newcomer (or returnee) Jeff Smith, scored one of the short handed goals with a blistering slap shot. Chris Dreossi scored a lpli assisted on another. PI couple and acing John Cleiff on the wing produced produced three points and Dave Smith played solidly in net after returning from a muscle muscle injuiy. Bowmanville's victory against Ajax last Tuesday night was a different story. Although the birdmen weren't weren't hitting, the team work and heads up passing made the game exciting. Ai ax was tough and fought Lack in the second period to bring the ■score to within a goal 5-4. The game ended 7-4 and in all likelihood it was the last time Bowmanville will play the Axeman this year. The number of fans that are attending these play-off games are down from past years, and it is because of two reasons. The Eagles have a team that can win every night. Even playing badly, Bowmanville can neat a play-off team by nine goals. With the elimination of fighting on the ice and less competitive play in the arena, arena, it is no wonder the amount of excitement is dropping. Give the fans a 6-4 bam burner and a pop on the nose and Bowmanville Arena Arena will be packed from one crack in the wall to another. The Goodyear Eagles are' undefeated and are at the top of the play-off standings. They play at home against Wellington this Sunday. Game time is the standard 7:30 start.
