Letter to The Editor Dear Editor: A shock wave went through Canada recently when Hie highest court decided decided on the Morgantalcr case. The effects of what happened will cause many more deaths. Already in Ontario our Liberal government government has begun to pay with our tax and 01 III/ money to ' take the life away from the unborn. In 1940-45 many people in Europe did not directly realize what was happening to the Jews who were taken away from their homes and ended to be put to death in concentration camps. Some people who helped to hide Jews lost their life as well. But what happens now is not unknown to any of us. Are we going to stand by idle? The highest judge, our Creator, will judge us by what we have done. Many people would love to adopt a child. In this area the waiting list is great. Contact and object in no uncertain terms to those in government. government. Are you not shocked? That is why I am shocking you. Tom Webb, Sunday tour guide at the Bowmanville Museum, says his interest in restoring the Jury family family piano is a case of "one old crock helping another." The museum is seeking donations to restore this piano to its former condition so that it can be not only a part of the museum's collection but also a working instrument for use at museum functions. Mr. Webb is shown here beside the piano which was built by the Dominion Organ and Piano Company in 1904. It won first prize for Bowmanville and Canada in a piano cabinet competition in the U.S. It was bought by John Jury, the second owner of 37 Silver St., before it became our museum. The piano plays poorly and Tom feels it would be a great asset to have it restored to concert pitch and refinished by Clarke Pianos, of Port Perry. The total cost of the project is $4,000. Funds are being sought by the museum in order to complete the repairs. Cheques may be sent to: Bowmanville Museum Piano Fund, P.O. Box 188, Bowmanville, Ont. L1C 3K9.
