In attendance were Dave and Betty's family, son Douglas his wife Sav and daughter Danielle of Union- ville, son Robert and daughter daughter Suzanne, and Edythe's sisters, nieces, nephews, and great nieces who came from Unionville, Newmarket, Georgetown and Oshawa. A friend from Markham made the birthday cake for this happy occasion. Apparently, skiing conditions were worse at the beginning of the trip as three pairs of Soviet skis and one pair of Canadian skis were broken then. Daylight was shorter also. With 20 hours of daylight now, the expedition will have more time for medical and scientific scientific experiments. Linking east ana west through north is quite an idea.
