District Annual at Maple Grove United Church on May 4, 1988. Registration and sale of luncheon tickets preceeded the opening exercises exercises at 9.30 a.m. Mrs. H. Bradley, President of Maple Grove Branch welcomed those present and the reply was made by Mrs. Chant of Hampton Branch. Mrs. Vi Ashton presided . as District President and gave a short report. Board Director Mrs. Marion Thompson, Bailieboro, formally formally ratified the District Directors Directors who then presented their "Pennies For Friendship". Friendship". A representative will be sent to the Kingston Leadership Conference, May 13 and 14 , on Program Planning Fund Raising and Recycling. Nominations for Certificates of Recognition need to be submitted to Barbara Weese, R.O.S. by June 15, 1988. A thank you was read from Mrs. C. Bray for the opportunity opportunity to represent the district at the Area Convention last October 24 and 25. A motion was sustained that assistance assistance be available if and when the District Resolutions Resolutions Convenor is required to attend Area Convention. In the morning they played for grades 4 to 6 of Courtice Public School and in the afternoon the band played for grades K - 3. The music was enjoyed by everyone. In the near future, future, the band will be playing at Orono and Kirby Public Schools. by Melanie Rypstra. On Monday, May 2nd, the class of 8D went on a trip, to Toronto. In the morning they saw the play "Anne of Green Gables' 1 at the Ryer- son Theatre. The play was funny, sad and very enjoyable. enjoyable.
