Birthday Party Mrs. Jennie Bowins was pleasantly surprised on Sat- __ urday evening when about 35 friends, neighbors and relatives called in to wish her "happy birthday on her 75th!" Friends were present from Lindsay, Woodstock, Oshawa and surrounding area. A pretty decorated cake and plates of delicious sweets were served to the guests, and the guest of honor honor received many cards, gifts and flowers. Stella has been a choir member member for 50 years, as well as U.C.W., stewards, session etc; George has recently retired retired from 25 years as member member of Bd. of Stewards chairman chairman of ushering for many years, also session etc. This past week George and Stella celebrated 40 years wedding anniversary, and their friends felt this an opportune time to honor them both. Re- . verend Milnes presented them with an "In Appreciation Appreciation Certificate" from Orono United for their many years of dedicated service, Mrs. Thelma Gilbank read à very well worded_ address, and Mrs. Isabelle Challice pre- sehted Stella with a pretty vase of red roses.
