This summer over 200 motocyclists have already already taken the course, and they come from all over the Durham Region. The course has been full most weekends, and continues until September September 9th. It involves classroom classroom time Fridays, from 7:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., and actual "on bike" training, Saturdays and Sundays from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. There is 17 hours in total and the cost is $175.00. As part of the Canada Safety Council's Gearing Up Program, developed in cooperation cooperation with tne Federal Government, the course is endorsed by all levels of government government and the Insurance Advisory Organization. Since its inception in 1974, it has gained world wide recognition. recognition. The interest rate charged for five-year, fixed interest term loans is now 12.50 per cent compared with the previous previous rate of 12.00 per cent. Shared Risk Mortgage Loans will now be approved at 12.25 per cent, up from 11.75 per cent. Loans with terms of 10 and 15 years or more are now at 12.75 per cent, up from 12.25 per cent. The interest rate on Farm Syndicate Loans is now 12.50 per cent compared with the previous rate of 12.00 per cent. Syndicate loans are used for the shared purchase of farm machinery, machinery, buildings, and installed equipment, These new rates reflect current commercial lending rates.
