In the choir, Kathy Tromans & Janice MàcKenzie favoured with a duet, "Jesus and Me". The children's story dealt with dancing (the difference between between watching and taking part). Are we willing to teach others skills so that they can participate fully? The hymn "Lord of the Dance" was followed by Richard Choe's sermon, "Remembrance of Things Past". He urged us as Christians to share our faith with other people using the Hymn as reference. Next Sunday, Aug. 7, at 11:15 a.m. will be a special service with dedication of our new organ. We welcome all members past and present to share in the dedication in memory of those who have served our charge. Try and attend next week - a warm welcome awaits you. Evening UCW Unit Get-Together On Wednesday, Juy 27,1988, the evening UCW unit held their annual annual summer "get-together". This year it was in the form of a pool party at the attractive home of Betty Headon in Nestleton, with 12 attending. It was such a hot day that everyone enjoyed a dip in the pool when they arrived to get cooled off. Members sat around the pool chatting...with plenty of goodies to eat even before dinner. Later in the evening, a delicious pot luck dinner with some fabulous desserts to top it off was held. After the lovely meal...some enjoyed another swim in the pool. They all had a great time...laughing and chatting...'til the wee small hours ! Sounds like a fantastic party! Birthday Party Held Stacey Headon, Nestleton, celebrated her 7th birthday, on July 22,1983, in style! Since most of her little friends were away on vacation, Stacey chose her favourite restaurant for dinner, A family party, at the Red Lobster in Peterborough, complete with presents and a delightful birthday cake...was very much enjoyed by all! A group of six...Mike Dearborn, Jim Chatick, John Tyerman, Pat Green,, Sally Cirtwill and Charlotte Bigelow have just returned from a three weeks white water canoe trip on the Mountain River, ending up at Fort Good Hope in the North West Territories (Fort Good Hope on the Arctic Circle). It was a challenging but very enjoyable trip! Lots of food...and they caught lots of fish. The group used three canoes with spray covers...made out of 16 foot plastic. They found the people in the North West Territories very friendly...the Indians and the white people were just great! Yellowknife is a beautiful city! Miss Morris obtained a yearly average average of 80.0-1 per cent to win the Studsnts' Council Scholarship for proficiency in the two year course.
