Dear Sir: Being as we are fairly newcomers to the town of Bowmanville, having lived here for just the past three years, we chose to do so as it was a nice, peaceful neighbourhood neighbourhood and we thought it to be a great place to raise a family. We were fortunate to be blessed with triplets this past January, and though we spent many anxious weeks, and even months travelling to and from here to Kingston, watching their gradual progress to the point where after three months, we were able to bring our family together as a whole unit, at which point, we were overjoyed. But, we no sooner had our babies come home when we were hit with the proposal of a Medical Centre not a hundred hundred feet from our home. One of the many concerns for our children is their very precarious respiratory systems systems which we had been warned would bear watching watching over the next few years. As I write this, at no time are they to be subject to even the least bit of cigarette smoke. So, can you imagine our concern concern over the fact that if this proposed development is allowed allowed to go ahead, they will be exposed to the exhaust fumes from hundreds of cars coming and going several several hours per day as the proposed parking lot is less than a stone's throw from our doors. Are we going to have to have our children wearing masks to ensure their health and safe being is protected for these first years of their lives? Fh You may ask yourself why wouldn't we be pleased to have a facility such as this. so close to home with the roblems our children have, e answer is very simple - we are ONE block from the Hospital and their emergency emergency services, and that is what they would need. Also, with the Hospital under expansion expansion for better emergency service, why do we need another another medical centre in such' close proximity? It just doesn't bear justification in our minds, and from talking to neighbors, they are of the same thought. T Has anyone bothered to come to this neighborhood, such as the planning people or Works Department, to study the impact of such a structure and the traffic problems that could occur here, and how it would affect affect such a quiet and peaceful peaceful part of your town that so many people had hoped to enjoy in their retirement or raising young families? If we sound self-serving, in our views that is not the intent. We just like our area as otherwise, otherwise, we could have remained remained in the city, where we would have been lost in the crowd, and no one would have heard our pleas. We are just asking that all things be considered. Mostly, the welfare of the young children in the area, not just ours. Thank you for letting us speak our piece. It is appreciated. appreciated. .
