Although the team was shorthandea, Alex Walcer managed a breakaway but was unable to score a point. McKenzie Park then capitalized capitalized on the man advantage to once again gain a three goal lead. Early in the second period, period, Hutton was unable to narrow the lead when Peter Schoep failed to score on a breakaway. Moments later, another Hutton breakaway, this time by Hughes, resulted in the team's second goal,. The assist was credited to Schoep. One minute later,, Hughes, behind the Oshawa net, passed- the puck out front to Ben Medd- who neatly neatly put it past the goalterider. Thé one goal lead by Oshawa was soon increased to two but before the second period was over, Hughes put the puck between tne goal- tender's legs, scoring the Truckers' fourth goal. During During the second period, the Truckers created many opportunities opportunities and had many close calls. Hutton Transport scored the only goals of the third period to win the game 6-5. Mike Ferguson tied the game on a hard shot from right wing. Brad Read earned the assist. It wasn t until the last minute of the game that Ferguson, again assisted by Read, scored the winning goal. The Truckers were very pleased with their comeback and their exciting ending to the game. Later the same day, the Truckers hosted North Oshawa in the Orono Arena and led by Jeff Hughes' third hat trick of the season, skated to a 6-0 victory.
