Paul Roughley, Steve Veinot and Brook Cole led the B.H.S. team to the victory. Sylvia Rueger, of Clarke High School, won the right to compete in Vancouver November 18 in the All-Canadian Cross Country Meet. Earlier, she had placed fourth at the All-Ontario level. SHARPSHOOTERS -- Winners in the shoot-out competition competition held at the new Bowmanville Recreation Complex on Sunday were as follows: Chris Smith, David Mills, Jason Jackman and Terry VanLonden. Chris Smith won a hockey stick autographed by the Toronto Maple Leafs and the remaining participants received their choice of a free pizza or a free skating pass. CATCH ARENA OPENING ON TV -- If you were among the several hundred people who didn't hear the proceedings at the Official Opening of the Bowmanville Bowmanville Recreation Complex, you have a chance to see a re-play of the event on Cable TV. Problems with the sound system prevented most spectators from hearing the platform guests and other proceedings. However, Cable TV, which was recording the opening, has excellent sound quality. It's rebroadcasting the ceremony at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday, November 10 and at 2 p.m. on Monday, November 14. No doubt, there will be other dates for broadcast in addition to these.
