Bom and educated in Tyrone, Tyrone, and a resident of Orono Orono for 67 years she was the daughter of William and Annie Annie Virtue and was married March 28, 1922 to the late Harry Melville Mercer. Owner of a restaurant in Orono from 1943-1951 she was a member of Orono United Church and was made a life member of the church in 1980. A devoted homemaker and a friend to all, she was well respected in the community. community. Of special interest were her family, flowers and garden.
