'CUROS' The Journal of the Clarke Museum Museum and Archives, will be published six times per year, beginning with the February February issue. The Journal is an automatic automatic benefit of Museum membership. The tabloid format will include Clarke Museum news and features on other museums in Durham Durham Region. There will also be regular features on related related provincial and national museum events. In addition, the Museum is encouraging submissions from the general general public on any history related related topic. In particular, the Museum is looking for features features and remembrances of times past from the people of the Town of Newcastle. What was it like growing up in Kendal? Do you remember remember your first day of school in Tyrone? If you have some special memory you would like to share, then 'CUROS' wants to hear from YOU! To help the Museum meet the financial needs of this new and exciting project, advertising space will be available. On Thursday, December 8, members of Welcome UCW with some of the men folk, altogether numbering more than 45, enjoyed the noon meal at the Royal Canadian Canadian Legion, in Port Hope. Following the meal, unit one went to the home of Phyllis Symons, and unit 2 to Welcome Welcome church for the regular December meeting. The business was conducted by the. leader of the latter and past business was reviewed by secreatry Berniece Best. The state of finances was reported reported by Orald Ford and the dates of future meetings were checked. She, with other members members of her group Dora Nichols, Nichols, Helen Dinner and Mandy Thorndyke read the different scripture passages of the Christmas story with appropriate hymns between with Mrs. Reeve accompanist. accompanist. The white gift offering was received and dedicated by Phyllis. This money will be shared by the Fred Victor Mission and the local food bank. Gwen and Berniece Best and Phyllis Clark were among those going with a busload from Newtonville to attend the cantata of the living living Christmas tree in the Presbyterian church in Lindsay. This is an annual event and these ladies urge their friends to remember it in 1989.
