Wilfred Maindonald 111 only two weeks, Wilfred Wilfred Maindonald, aged 90, died at Strathaven Nursing Home, Bowmanville, Tuesday, Tuesday, November 15,1988. Son of Thomas and Jane Maindonald, he was born at Guernsey Island, near France, and was educated in Toronto. He was married 41 years to his first wife May, and 24 years to Vivian Bun- ner whom he married in 19G4. Coming to Canada in 1908, he resided in Bowmanville Bowmanville and bought his home in 1958. A butcher by trade, he was an active member of St. John's Anglican Church, and a member of the Masonic Lodge 67 years. He was a member of the Horticultural Society and an avid gardener, gardener, sharing his roses with many. On July 19 he celebrated his 90th birthday at a party in his honor with 31 guests present. He is survived by his wife and two nieces. Funeral services were held on Thursday in St. John's Anglican Church with the Reverend Byron Yates and the Reverend Tom Gracie officiating. Arrangements Arrangements were by the Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home. Many floral tributes showed the esteem in which he was held. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Crime Stoppers Crime Stoppers and Durham Durham Regional Police are asking asking for the Public's help in solving a robbery which occurred occurred in Pickering on December December 8th. At about 11 a.m. two masked men entered the Liverpool Liverpool Pharmacy at 715 Krosno Boulevard in the Krosno Plaza. They ran down separate aisles meeting meeting at the rear of the store near where the two employees employees were. One suspect was carrying a knife which he used to cut the cord on the phone on which the Pharmacist was talking. The second suspect who was carrying a red gym bag and a handgun demanded demanded Percodan. The Pharmacist showed him where the drugs weré and the suspect took selected drugs putting them into the gym bag. Both bandits continued continued to ask for more drugs but were told there were no more. They then both ran from the store. Stolen was a quantity of Tylenol,Percodan and other Narcotic drugs. The bandits are described as: 1- White Male, 5'8", in his 20's, heavy set with dark hair. He was wearing a dark ski mask with only his eyes showing. He had on a blue track suit and running shoes and was carrying a red gym bag and a handgun. 2- White male in his 20's, about 5'10" in height, medium medium build with curly hair. He had a white mask over his face and a small black wool cap on his head. Both men had been seen as they walked towards the store a few moments prior to the robbery without their masks on. A re-enactment of this robbery will be shown of CITY TV on Thursday, December December 29th during the 6 p.m. and 10 p.m. News. It will also be shown on CHEX TV in Peterborough and CKVR TV in Barrie on Friday, Friday, December 30th again during their news. Crime Stoppers will pay up to $1000 for information leading to an arrest in this robbery. Similar rewards will be paid for information leading to an arrest in any serious crime.
