The Canadians, Canadians, not known to be a high scoring team, defeated Bonded 9-3. Chris Watson got things going when Erik Griffin fed a pass up the center center to Chris who skated thru the defence and scored to give them a 1-0 lead. In the second period Bryan Lowery's speea to get into the corner was able to pass the puck right on Danny Danny Katsikis' stick, who banged the puck into the corner corner to score. This was Danny's Danny's first goal of his hockey career. Congratulations Danny! Although Bonded tied the game on two quick goals, Robbie MacChayne broke in from the wing and gave his team the 3-2 lead. With minutes minutes remaining in the second period, Braaly St. John saved a goal by covering up the puck in the crease, whicn f ave Bonded a penalty shot, ake Davis who had already faced one this year, played the angle perfectly and stopped the shot from Guy Tousignant. Jake's save gave the Canadians Canadians a big boost as the boys never looked back. Chris Watson exploded for 4 goals by displaying some unbelievable unbelievable stick-handling around the net. The end result was the juniors winning against one school and the seniors tying for second second by winning against three. In basketball, both junior and senior boys' teams won their games against Vanier. The seniors slaughtered them 64-28 while the juniors won during overtime. Now that Christmas is just around the comer, many things have happened at school. Last week, we had a food drive for our needy, a spirit day on Thursday in which we had to wear green and red, a door decorating contest and a school dance won by Mr. Walkau's grade 11G home room where we crowned the Snow Prince and Princess who were Lindsay Cooper and Chris Ewles. Have a Merry Christmas and an even better New Year. Lisa Scattergood. Region Will Return Cannons The Durham Region has agreed to return the Halifax Citadel cannons to their original original owner. The Halifax Citadel had asked the Region of Durham to return two cannons- that have been in Whitby since 1901. The Citadel explained that the weapons would become become part of the restoration of Halifax Citadel National Historic Park. Regional Council decided to return the cannons at a Council meeting on December December 21. The cost of sending them home will be paid for by the Halifax Citadel; Ontario County obtained the cannons in 1901. They were placed in front of the County Courthouse on Centre Centre St. in Whitby until in 1964.' ? The County Courthouse moved to the new building on Rossland Rd. in Whitby in 1964 and moved the cannons cannons at that time.
