During his years selling furniture, the one-year Bowmanville Bowmanville Rotarian has learned a number of stories behind the products he sells. Of particular interest is the origin of the wing-back chair. It was designed in a time when houses were heated heated by fire, and the high back enveloped a person facing the fire, shielding them from cold drafts. Furniture retailers across the country are looking forward forward to a furniture show in Toronto later this month at which they will see the upcoming upcoming designs and do much of their ordering for 1989.
