Bowmanville Baptist Church Third Concession west of Liberty St. PASTOR: Roger Fellows Has The Price Been Too High? It would appear that the world has completely reversed reversed itself] What once was called good is now called bad, and bad is now called good. If a man is a gentleman gentleman of good manners, he is called a wimp. If a woman chooses to stay home to care for her family rather than to pursue a career of her own, she is labelled "odd", "strange" and not belonging to the permissive "me" generation. generation. The Bible says a man is to be head of his household, to love and re spect his wife, to apply discipline discipline to his children with a firm but kindly hand, not harsh or cruel, so as not to alienate alienate them. The woman is. to love and respect her husband, husband, to rear her children to be kind, caring and respectful respectful persons. Too few little children today can run to their mothers to have their hurts kissed away. They are much more likely to be confronted confronted by a stranger and to be told not to be a "crybaby". They give no quarter and receive none, resulting in the crime-ridden, violent world in which we live today. An increasing number of women have become heads of governments, colleges, large corporations, banks, etc. They have become TV anchor persons, judges, lawyers, lawyers, and are found in the jDulpit. Even military and police police forces are not immune from this invasion. Before this onslaught, men are increasingly increasingly being relegated to lower positions; some even don aprons and are called "house husbands", while the wife becomes the breadwinner! breadwinner! Tire old saying that "behind "behind every successful man is a woman* no longer applies. We cannot all be rich - the Bible says the poor will always always be with us - but with all the relief agencies and social programs in our western world, no one needs to go hungry or be without shelter. But we consider ourselves deprived if we do not have our color TV, microwave ovens, ovens, automatic dishwashers, etc., etc. In a TV interview, a prominent member of Women's Women's Lib. told how she had taken into her home a single parent with a small child. She said that the joy she received received when arriving home to be welcomed by this small child made her wonder if W.L. was as attractive as she had once thought. In another interview, the mother of another another noted advocate of W.L. wondered if her daughter, as she grew older, would receive receive the comfort and understanding understanding she needed from a cold typewriter! As the numbers numbers of abortions increase and the Women's Liberation movement grows - wouldn't FAITH Charity is beloved and acceptable acceptable before God, and is accounted the chief among all good deeds. Indeed, this blessed word Is, in this connection, connection, a sun among words. Blessed is he who prefers his brother belore himself. Lawlessness and disrespect are classic examples examples of what is meant. 1 Isn't it time that we turned our world back to its proper order - the one that our Maker Maker ordained from the beginning beginning of time?
