'• We have been skating at the new arena. We greatly enjoyed the experience, and we will be going again two more times in February. Around The School. This week the grade G class of Ontario St. School received a vidéocassette from their Chicoutimi "twins" consisting of skits, songs and short speeches. Our grade 6's have also made a similar video for them. Each student was taped individually and they presented themselves, their families, and anything else they thought might interest their "twins". M. Bourgault and M. Laganiere had students students from their respective classes sing songs and read stories in French. Happy First Birthday The Canadian Statesman. Bowmanville. "Aujourd'hui je suis allee patiner avec mes amis et j'ai eu beaucoup de fun!" Feature Teacher This week's feature teacher is Mme. Monique Warren-Grybas. She is from Sudbury in Northern Ontario. If she had not become a teacher, she would have been a children's author. She has been a teacher for nine years. Her favourite school subject is French because, because, as she says, "It's wonderful wonderful to see the children reading and writing in a different different language." She has a black and white cat whose name is Minou. Minou. She admires Margeret Mougault, the first teacher of her time to get the little Indian children to school. Her favourite singer is Christ Reharg because his songs are related to folk tales. Her pet peeve is people who are perfectionists and who are caught up in being perfect. During summer vacation she likes to go to her cottage up North and she enjoys shopping and reading. Her favourite book is Anne of Green Gables, but she does not have a favourite favourite author. She bases her marks on originality, comprehension, presentation and effort. This week we would like to welcome Shannon Saunders, Saunders, Hilary Jennings, Tracy Amott to the Journalist Club. They will be contributing contributing material to our articles until the end of the year. by: Stephanie Maxwell, Meghan Sim, Randi Ther- tell.
