Bowmanville, April 5,1989 OBITUARIES Margaret Mary Goulah Born and educated in Sydney, Nova Scotia, Margaret Margaret Mary Goulah aged 83, died Tuesday, March 14, 1989, in Memorial Hospital, Bowmanville. She had been ill for six months. Daughter of Joseph and Mary Laphen, she was married married to Leo Simon Goulah, on August 16,1925. A resident of Bowmanville Bowmanville for 60 years, she had previously resided in Belleville. Belleville. and in Indiana, U.SA. She was a member of St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Bowmanville, a member and past president of the Catholic women's League of which she received received the league's certificate certificate of merit for faithful and exceptional services. Surviving are her daughters daughters Doris (Mrs. Bill Joli) Newcastle; Bernice Buday, Peggy (Mrs. Ron Haynes) and Rita (Mrs. Les Samis) nine grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Father Wayne McCarthy officiated at the funeral services services held on Thursday at the Morris Funeral Chapel, Bowmanville. The organist was Mrs. Pot Prout, and the soloist Louise Wright; Pallbearers were William Buday, A1 McArthur, Ken Joli, Stephen Samis, Paul Jackman and Don Lux ton. STEPHEN HOMENIUK A resident of Courtice, Stephen Homeniuk died at the Oshawa General Hospital Hospital on Monday, March 13, 1989. He was born on May 14, 1913, in Lady Wood, Man., a son of the late William Homeniuk and Ann Zadorozny. A veteran of the Second World War, Mr. Homeniuk served as a maintenance mechanic from 1939 to 1943. He was the proprietor of Welcome Lunch Restaurant during the 1940s. He was employed as a laborer laborer for approximately 25 years with Ontario Malleable Malleable Iron Company Limited. Limited. In his spare time he enjoyed enjoyed gardening and raising stock. Mr. Homeniuk is survived by his wife, the former Stella Ann Drewniak, whom he married in Oshawa on July 1, 1943; his children Dennis and his wife Bonnie of Enniskillen, Jim and his wife Patricia of Oshawa; and grandchildren, Michael, Brenda, Meredith, Kelly, Christopher, Kelly and Terri. He is also survived by his brothers and sisters, Mary Slater, Mike Homenick, both of Richmond, B.C., and John Homeniuk of Porcupine Porcupine Plains, Sask. and' stepsisters, Dora Smoly and Anne Ault. A stepsister, Nellie Lewicki, and stepbrother, Max Homenuk, died before him. Mclntosh-Anderson Funeral Funeral Home conducted the funeral arrangements, and a service was held in the chapel on March 14, 1989, followed by interment in Thornton Cemetery. Rev. Yemen O'Brien officiated officiated at the service. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society Society would be appreciated. A. Violet Bradd In her 102nd year, A. Violet Violet Bradd died in Hillsdale Manor, Oshawa, on Friday, March 10, 1989, following a 10 day illness. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Dudley, she was born and educated in Colbome. She was married to the late William John Bradd in 1910. A member of the United Church of Canada, she had resided in Regina, Sask.. Bowmanville, Orillia and Oshawa. Surviving are her sons Gerald and wife Isabel, Orillia, Orillia, Floyd and Pat, Bowman- vile, daughter-in-law Anne, Oshawa, sik grandchildren, a brother Floyd Dudley and wife Hazel of Foxboro. She was predeceased by a son Dudley. The Reverend Frank Lockhart officiated at the funeral funeral services held Monday at the Morris Funeral Chapel. Chapel.
