As is very common, at most high schools, students tend to just now begin concentrating concentrating on their academic marks and this leads to a decline in daily events at the schools which represents the reason for the absence of this column column for the past two weeks. Thus, this week's article will include a culmination of events past, present and future. future. Perhaps the biggest and most successful event to be held recently was this year's tremendously exciting senior senior class formal. This year's great extravaganza was held at the Ramaaa Hotel in Toronto Toronto this past June 2nd. Thtf-highly controversial setting setting for this year's formal was the topic of much debate debate not only at our high school but at several other high schools region-wide. It seems that upon other high schools' students 'catching wind' of our Toronto-based formal, they too wanted a "big-city" formal but the school board denied them such an opportunity. Now, next years' senior students will have to wait to deal with the consequences concerning concerning school formais. However, rumor has it that the (Northumblerland/ Newcastle) school board plans to pass a resolution involving involving high school's holding their formais nowhere else but at that school's gymnasium, gymnasium, with the absence of any alcohol, but this will be a highly-debated topic in the near future as I'm sure this won't be acceptable to next year's senior students. I'll try to include more information information about that story in next Week's final, end-of-the-year B.H.S. News, article. Other happening past events included a very humorous humorous end-of-the-year school assembly where skits ranging from teachers dancing dancing as California Raisins to the heart-touching songs. Overall, an enjoyable time was had by all. Athletics at Bowmanville High School has been in several several newspapers lately as Bowmanville s junior girls emerged as the overall champions at the OFSAA (Ontario finals) track and field championships led by the multi-talented track star Nicole Devonish who won record-breaking gold-medals in the junior girls 100 and 200 metre races. Congratulations Congratulations to everyone!
