In keeping with the "hoedown" theme of this year's reunion the evening amateur show included country songs and "hard- times" costumes with "Grandma's Feather Bed" being a popular choice. The crowning follows five days of preliminary and semi-final competitions at the ONE for the 43 contestants, contestants, who have each served as Dairy Princess in their county/mstrict over the past year. The preliminaries will be held daily August 24th through 26th at 6:00 p.m. in the Eraser Pavilion, Coliseum Coliseum East Annex, with semi-finals held August 28th at 5:30 p.m. in the Main Ring of the Coliseum. The public is invited to attend attend all events. Each night of the preliminaries, there will be free draws for baskets baskets of dairy products. The contestants, ranging in age from 17 to 26, are judged on their public speaking ability, knowledge of the dairy industry, personality personality and poise.
