Daughter of Alfred and Edith Perrin, she was born in South Hackney, England in 1907, coming to Canada at rm early age. On June 1, 1935 she was married to William Alfred Reid in Clarke Church, Clarke Township. The Reids were the only couple ever married there. Mrs. Reid was an active member of Kirby United Church in the choir, the Sunday School, and a Lifetime Lifetime member of the U.C.W. Therefore, the Durham Region and area municipalities have developed an alternative plan to dispose of the leaves in a composting site. Leaves must be placed in normal household garbage bags and tied with special tags. The tags will be distributed to all households in the Town of Newcastle the week of October 23,1989.
