November 29.1989 Lange Photo Downs McKenzie Park in Exhibition Contest On Saturday night, November November 18 at the Orono Arena, Arena, Lange Photo squared off against a team flying the McKenzie Park colors of Oshawa and skated away with a well deserved victoiy of 6-2. The defense broke up opposition opposition rushes time and time again and all forwards played a very sound two- way game to coast to the win. In the first period, Mike Zdravkovski hit the twine first when left alone in front. Next marksman up was Jeff Hughes, then to finish off the scoring in the first, Adam Kooy notched a marker marker with one second left. • Kevin Grootcndorst was next up on the scoring parade parade punching one across for ■ our 4th score. Not letting up Skylight Donuts Still Undefeated Skylight Donuts 'fykes remain undefeated after winning their seventh straight game with an 8-3 win over rotaiy on Sunday, November 26. ; This was possibly Skylight's Skylight's toughest opposition yet and by far their most physical. Much of the play for the first two periods was between the blue lines with neither team wanting to give an inch. Skylight held the edge in scoring opportunities opportunities however. Eric Smale Rotary's goalie stopped many shots from point blank range to keep Rotary in the game. '•It wasn't until the third period when Skylight had Rotaiy so worn down that they took command and scored five goals to Rotary's one to put the game away. ' Scoring for Skylight was Ian Gleeson and Stephen Hoar with three each and singles going to Scott Maxwell Maxwell and Robert Milford. Rotary's Rotary's scoring came from Andrew Andrew Smale with two and Andrew Warren with one. a bit, Lange Photo poured it on with Jeff Hughes picking the top comer. At this point McKenzie Park picked up their 1st goal but Mike Zdravkovski restored our four goal lead. On to the third and McKenzie Park struck for their final goal on a behind the net fluke which struck Clayton Rendell's skate and trickled in. As the period wound down their goalie was injured and with no substitute goalie we clicked for our final mark, Mike Zdravkovksi being the sniper. sniper. A number of assists were awarded on various goals but there was some confusion confusion concerning the score- sheet write up which I'll try to sort out. Jeff Hughes earned two assists with Jason Jason Colder drawing another. Let's keep this momentum going boys throughout the season, good effort. Mr. Sub Gets Jump On Lange Come game day on Saturday Saturday November 18 the Lange Photo boys were looking to extract a little revenge after the previous week's loss to the same first place Mr. Submarine. But such was not the case as we went down to a close hard fought 2-0 defeat. The first period featured all the goal scoring in the game with two shots from the point finding the mark, one on a tip in on the original original shot, the other through a screen in front past a frustrated frustrated Clayton Rendell. Next week, we look forward forward to putting the brakes on this modest two game losing losing streak. Remember, boys keep working hard, the rewards rewards will come.
