Editor's Mail Halt Tax Increases Dear Editor: I would like to know just how much we are expected, to pay with all the tax increases? increases? First we get vehicle licence increases from $54.00 to $90.00, the Peterson Peterson government gives themselves themselves a 5.5% raise. We are told that we are a municipality municipality in the Greater Toronto Toronto Area. Now, we are told that our municipality (Bowmanville) (Bowmanville) has to pay a commercial commercial Concentration Tax on our parking lots, which means they will be taking more than is collected, so we, the average Joes have to f ay double for our parking, sn't it nearly time that we told these jerks where they can stuff their increases? Also, when are we going to get some politicians who have a few guts and will stand up for tne people who elect them? Maybe there is a better idea, maybe it is time for the people to revolt en mass and demand responsible responsible government. What good are our local politicians when Queen's Park can ram anything up our backsides without a whimper from anyone about it. When are we going to get someone of action instead of just words?
