Those are the only words I can express as I walk through the hall of St. Stephen's Stephen's during this busy before before Christmas week. Every inch of wall space has been covered with decorations decorations and Christmas dance posters, the music ministry sings Christmas carols at lunch, and Santa aid a two day visit to St. tephen's for pictures! The Christmas spirit is alive at St. Stephen's! Although Christmas is a relatively joyful time at St. Stephens, the students have not forgot the needy in our area. On Sunday, tiecember 16th, a food drive was held throughout Bowmanville by St. Stephen's and Bowmanville Bowmanville High School students. Approximately 30 boxes of food were collected for distribution distribution to ' the Salvation Army. Thank you Bowmanville! Bowmanville! Also, homerooms have each adopted a family. They were given an initial description description of the family size and what they need most. Christmas hampers of food, toys and necessities were made for the families by the homerooms. In addition to this a rusty can atop each homeroom teacher's desk has been filled win pennies or any loose change for St. Stephen's annual penny drive for the needy. St. Stephen's Stephen's truly realizes "to receive receive is nice, but to give is better!" A pressing issue around St. Stephen's was the installation installation of speed bumps. At first there was quite an uproar, uproar, concerning the size, amount etc. But by now everyone everyone is pretty used to slowing slowing down to climb these mountains, as they are definitely definitely curbing those reckless drivers! Visitors drive carefully! carefully! This week is particularly busy for our OAC's. As the Semester is winding down more and more tests and assignments assignments are due. The Independent Independent study deadlines were all this past week, and the library was filled with frantic students racing against the clock, to prepare rough drafts and presentations. presentations. The OAC teachers are anxious to see what the final roducts will look like. Let's ope the OAC's hard work pays off. (I know it will). Boys Basketball season has got off to an exciting beginning beginning as St. Stephen's 3 teams, (Midget, Junior and Senior) swept Campbellford off their feet with 3 victories. victories. The boys played (Dec. 21) at Port-Hope. Good Luck! Boys. But Christmas is more than just shopping and gift giving. It is also the time of Jesus Christ's birth, and this theme was reflected in our Christmas Litugy which carried the message "Pre- E are Ye the way of the ord". I am sure that throughout this busy activity activity St. Stephen's students will stop and reflect on how this event is so important to us as Christians. So from our family at St. Stephen's we extend "A Christmas of Peace" to your families. God Bless You. IPs Christmas Time at B.H.S. Schools throughout the municipality held Christmas concerts and assemblies last week and Bowmanville High School was no exception.
