Cleary champions who won the championship trophy on Saturday in a Knights of Columbus Columbus Intermediate Boys Basketball tournament. Team members are, front row 1-r Cornelius Gustave, Franco Scànga, Jeff Langley; 2nd row, Mickey Runza, Martin Gajda, Nimrod Majors; back row, Dwayne Rose, Rob Mastrangelo, Wayne Rose, Ken Massiah and Coach A. Six teams of separate school students took part in the Knights of Columbus Intermediate Intermediate Boys Basketball tournament, Saturday, at Courtice Secondary School. The schools included Msgr. Cleary of Courtice, St. Mary's Lindsay, St. John the Baptist, Peterborough, St. Stephen's , Bowmanville, St. Theresa's and St. Anne's of Peterborough. Msgr. Cleary emerged the winner, taking the final against St. Stephen's 49 to 24. MVPs in that game were Jeff Langley and Mike Talo- ti. Chris Novak and Steve Jones were MVPs in the first game won by Msgr. Cleary 38 to 31 for St. John. Mike Lloyd and Jason Chan won the honors in the second game won by St. Stephen's Stephen's over St. Theresa's 24 to 8. In the third game, Craig Keenan and Paul Lauson won MVP awards as St. John's downed St. Mary's 33-13.
