Ôshawa Centre Fashion Show Has New Twist *. The Oshawa Centre today today announced its plans for thé "A Star Is Bom Fashion Event" - a fashion show with a'brand new twist. Instead of hiring models, the Centre is inviting shoppers to purchase purchase then model art outfit of their own choosing. People1 People 1 entering the event will be eligible to win a trip for two to Paris, France, a private private breakfast with Doug Davidson, star of The Young & Restless, fashion gift certificates, certificates, sporting goods, makeovers and more. The winners won't necessarily necessarily be beautiful or skinny; they most likely will not have had experience walking walking ! down a fashion runway. They, will, however, be selecting selecting and wearing an outfit outfit that complements their personal style. Entrants will pay a $2 registration fee with all proceeds being given given to the Cancer Society. All outfits must be purchased purchased on or before May 1st with the actual fashion event running from May 2-5, 1990. There are 26 categories categories for ages ranging from pre-school to "50+ and Looking Looking Good" in casual, business business and cocktail fashions. Winners from May 3rd and 4th will return for the "Winner's "Winner's Circle" event at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 5th - the grand prize being the trip to Paris, France. Entrants Entrants will be judged on colour, colour, fit, presentation and overall look. The first evening, on Wednesday, May 2nd, is dedicated to children and teens. Prizes and trophies will be awarded to first and second place winners in 18 categories for casual and parly wear. McDonald's is the sponsor of this event offering offering prizes including McKids Wear clothing, a McDonald's and Famous Players party package, McDonald's gift certificates and more. The following night sees people "50+ and Looking Good" take the stage modelling modelling outfits in casual, business business and cocktail wear. The final night on Friday,' May 4th is for shoppers ages 20-49. Winners on both the Thursday and Friday evenings evenings can expect to receive gift certificates, makeovers, clothing gifts and the breakfast breakfast with Doug Davidson. All entrants will receive a grab bag of goodies. The fun begins begins each evening at 7 p.m. in Eaton's Court.
