They had been thrilled by the sounds of the Buffalo Bills and The Schmitt Brothers. They wanted to be part of the "new" sound. Two brothers, Gerald and Merrill Brown, were also members of the band and joined the quartet as baritones, baritones, alternating as each was available until they graduated from university. Then Merrill took over full time. The quartet has been extremely extremely active in the community community since 1953. And in 1987 they joined the Oshawa Chapter Horseless Carriagemen Chorus. In 1989, they officially registered their quartet with The Society For The Preservation Preservation and Encouragement of Barbershop Quartet Singing Singing In America Inc.. The Oshawa chapter of this society is only one of over 800 groups throughout North America, Great Britain, Britain, Sweden, Germany and Australia. The new Red Cross Parent Parent and preschool program is proving very popular with 468 children enrolled. We again participated in a water safety display at the Darlington Nuclear Station Family Safety Night in June.
