The Town applied for the grant through the Ministry's Community Recreation Development Development Program. Jennifer Cooke the Superintendent Superintendent of Program/ Community Relations for the Town of Newcastle Community Community Services Department, Department, says the grant is intended intended to help the department address the recreation recreation and leisure needs of the community. The tentative completion date for the study is April 30, 1991. At that time, it will take the form of a written written report prepared for the Community Services Department Department and Town Council. They will then "try to take information and plan out how we can use it to accommodate accommodate the needs of the community," said Jennifer Cooke.
