Barrowclough (Intended for last week) Charlene Austin left on Wednesday morning, August August 22, to attend the national national championship rally of the Canadian Pony Club. It was held at Wendover, just east of Ottawa with St. Lawrence Lawrence and Ottawa Valley region region as hosts for 1990. She will be staying at the Alfred college of Agriculture and returning home on Sunday night. She was chosen at Campbellville, Ontario, in July to represent Ontario at the rally. Charlene has had a successful year riding at different places throughout Ontario. As well as riding, she is an achiever in many things, after many years progress from Brownies to the top, she received her Canada cord. She graduated with high standing from Port Hope high school in June and will be in residence, residence, attending Queen's University in the fall. Her parents, Roy and El va Aus- ride in the competitions with others from across Canada. Canada. We congratulate her and offer best wishes for her. university years. Charlene did remarkably well, being second best over all with 71.5 % and the first had 71.9 %. It was a wonderful .experience .experience for her. On Thursday evening, August 23, friends gathered once again at Welcome church to see more of Donald Donald and Andrea Nichols' slides of Cairo and other parts of Egypt and Eastern Africa. The Cairo part of their trip was done with their own planning and proved very rewarding.
