She was born in Bowmanville and taken to the Hospital for Sick Children Children in Toronto immediately where she spent five weeks before she could come home. Kim calculated that during during the first year of Jenna's life, she had 116 doctors' appointments. appointments. It's a lot for a new parent to deal with. An organization organization where parents can meet would have helped her a great deal. She didn't know when Jenna was bom to what extent extent her disability would reach. Doctors first said Jenna Jenna wouldn't be able to do a number of things she can do now. "I think they prepare you for the worst. Now I deal with it as it comes," she said, noting that in every other way Jenna is "a very happy and healthy child." She wants though, to see more people becoming comfortable comfortable with the disability. "I find most people are afraid to ask questions and I wish more people would," she said.
