Born in Munich, Germany, Germany, he graduated in 1928 from Koethen University, Germany in Engineering and emigrated to Canada shortly afterwards. A professional engineer, he had been employed by Westinghouse Corp., Hamilton, Hamilton, Atlas Polar, Toronto, and Turbo Engineering in Bowmanville, coming here shortly after the end of World War II.
