Stiles The Newcastle Oldtimers hosted Rosedale on Sunday, February 17, and yeilded to the Rosedale squad by a 5-3 score. S. Tunney was a one man wrecking crew with two goals and two assists. Paul Carroll was also right up .there with one goal and two assists. W. Davidson also had two goals and one assist. assist. This was all the scores for Rosedale. Bill Perry scored two for Newcastle with Dave Peyman scoring one, Doug Cole, Jerry Dost, Bob Stiles, John Devitt and Bob Henry all had one assist each. The first period saw Rosedale Rosedale take a 1-0 lead at the 29 second mark with S. Tunney Tunney scoring his first goal with the assist going to Paul Carroll. Bill Perry, tied the score at 1-1 with his first goal at 8:08 assisted by Doug Cole to end the first period. Dave Peyman served the only penalty of the period period for Newcastle. Newcastle tried their hardest to tie this game, but were thwarted by the solid goal tending from Phil Wilson, even if he was a year or two short of being 35. I understand that he was 18 and his mom was in the stands with a video camera, camera, so I guess it is no wonder wonder that he gave us such a hard time. Newcastle's goalie, Dave Skan, turned in an excellent performance between the pipes.
