As a participant in the Advanced Agriculture Leadership Leadership Program, Anna Bragg left Monday, March 25, for a 14-day tnp to Beijing, Beijing, Jinan, Taishan, Qufu, Nanjing, Shanghai and Hong Kong. The trip will feature meetings with various officials officials in the different Chinese Chinese and Canadian agricultural agricultural sectors. "I feel that it is an absolute absolute privilege to be in the course and to be making this trip," said Ms. Bragg, While there, the participants participants -- 22 men (including Craig Larmer, from Black- stock) and eight women will visit a number of interesting locations including a state farm in Beijing, an agricul ture university in Nanjing, and the stock exchange and a fisheries university in Shanghai. The program is funded through donations from agri-businesses and private donations. Members from the University of Guelph, the Ministry of Agriculture and Food, the Foundation for Rural Living and the Ontario Ontario Federation of Agriculture Agriculture sit on an executive board. These people then act as a Board of Directors for the leadership trust fund. '-The climax is a two-week fact-finding trip to another country. The trip helps the participants debate issues facing farmers in Canada and in other countries. The aim of the program focuses on individual personal f rowth to benefit tne agri- usiness sector. "We have been groomed to respect the Chinese culture," culture," explains Anna Bragg as she talks about her upcoming upcoming trip.
