Ball Player Moves Up to First String by Brendan Donohue Our shortstop faltered eight games into the season, committing 12 errors. I got the call and am now the starting shortstop instead of second base and I still bat in the two spot. I have begun working hard in practice on my right handed hitting. I throw right and I'm a natural natural left handed hitter, but being a switch hitter is to my advantage when facing left handed pitchers. I got a package from Methodist College in Fayetteville, Fayetteville, North Carolina. The Methodist Monarch s have one of the five coaches in the NCAA Division III level. Tom Austin, the coach, wrote me and asked me to fill out a questionnaire. I sent it back and he sent me another letter and asked me to apply and address it to his attention. Through my baseball coach, he heard of me and they both feel I would do well playing there. I'm considering community community college or playing NCAA Division II or III, which basically basically means smaller schools. Getting a scholarship this year will be a long shot. But being recruited by a school and getting a scholarship in my second year is quite possible. possible. Basically I need more exposure to get a scholarship. scholarship. So if I have a good season, season, there is still hope. I have seen Division I baseball and know I can play at that level. It will just take a couple years of experience experience at a lower level. School is going well and our Spring Break is the first week of April. Mr. Sub Wins Over Lange's Mr. Sub defeated Langes 2-1 in a league game Tuesday, Tuesday, March 19. For a variety of reasons, this was to be the first time in a while that we were able to ice a full team and get back to basics before the playoffs. Dykstras scored midway ' through the first period and we were able to reply twice before changing ends. We picked up two more goals in the second and traded singles singles in the third for a 5-2 victory. Scoring was handled by David with two while Wes, John and Kevin contributed singles.
